Golden Triangle Tour Packages — Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with a Private Driver

The Golden Triangle is where most first time visitors to India begin — and there is a good reason for that. Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur sit within a few hundred kilometres of each other, they are connected by good roads, and between them they contain some of the most extraordinary monuments on earth. The Taj Mahal alone is worth the flight.

At Driver India Private Tours, we have been running Golden Triangle tours since 2013. Every tour is private — your own dedicated car, your own driver, your own itinerary. No group buses, no fixed departure times, no strangers. Just you, a knowledgeable driver who knows every road and shortcut on this circuit, and the freedom to travel at exactly the pace you want.

What Is the Golden Triangle?

The Golden Triangle refers to the triangle formed on the map by three cities in North India: Delhi — India's capital and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Mughal monuments, colonial architecture, bustling markets, excellent food. Most Golden Triangle tours begin and end here.

Agra: 230 kilometres south of Delhi, home to the Taj Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal and completed in 1653, it remains one of the most breathtaking structures ever built. Also worth visiting: Agra Fort and the Baby Taj (Itmad-ud-Daulah).

Jaipur: 240 kilometres west of Agra, capital of Rajasthan and known as the Pink City for the terracotta-pink colour of its old city buildings. The Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and Jantar Mantar are its headline attractions, but Jaipur's bazaars selling textiles, gems, and handicrafts — are just as compelling.

The three cities form a triangle of roughly 700 kilometres. Most Golden Triangle tours run over 4 to 7 days, though we have options as short as 3 nights and as long as 10 days for those who want to go deeper into each city.

How Many Days Do You Need for the Golden Triangle?

3 nights / 4 days — The minimum. Delhi one day, drive to Agra and see the Taj Mahal, drive to Jaipur, fly back from Jaipur. Fast-paced but entirely doable. Best for travellers with limited time.

4 nights / 5 days — The sweet spot for most travellers. Gives you a full day in Delhi, a relaxed day in Agra including sunrise at the Taj Mahal, and two days in Jaipur. Returns to Delhi on day five.

5–6 nights — Recommended if you want to experience each city without rushing. Time for Old Delhi, for a sunset at the Taj Mahal in addition to sunrise, for the markets of Jaipur, and a stop at Fatehpur Sikri on the Agra–Jaipur road.

7+ nights — Ideal for travellers who want to extend the Golden Triangle into Rajasthan, add a wildlife safari at Ranthambore, visit the holy city of Varanasi, or explore Amritsar and the Wagah Border.

All our itineraries are fully customisable. If none of the above fits your schedule, tell us your dates and we will design something that does.

The Blue City of Jodhpur is a natural extension from Jaipur. Mehrangarh Fort is one of the most impressive forts in India, and the blue-washed houses of the old city are extraordinary.

Golden Triangle with Varanasi — 9 Days
One of our most meaningful extensions. After the circuit, fly or drive to Varanasi — the oldest living city in the world — for two nights on the Ganges. The dawn boat ride on the river is an experience that stays with you.

Head north from Delhi to Amritsar after the circuit for the Golden Temple and the Wagah Border flag-lowering ceremony. One of the most emotionally powerful experiences in India.

December and January are the most popular months, especially for travellers from the UK, USA, and Australia escaping winter. Book early if you are travelling during this period, particularly for the Christmas and New Year window.

April to June is hot temperatures in Agra and Jaipur regularly exceed 40°C. Not ideal for sightseeing, though tours are possible with early morning starts.
